Ancient Cities melds well-crafted lyrics with synth-laden psychedelia and cinematic moodiness. July of 2014 marked the release of their self titled debut album. With electrifying sets at festivals like FloydFest, Drumstrong and more, the band turned the heads of critics, fans, and contemporaries alike, including famed music supporters, PASTE Magazine and Live & Breathing.
After releasing a live EP early in 2015, the band performed at Newport Folk Festival for the "50th Anniversary of Dylan Goes Electric", the band landed in Vanity Fair alongside of fellow acts like Hozier, Deertick, and Fiona Apple for a tintype photo exposé by Giles Clement. Their music was also featured on TBS's "Cougar Town" starring Courteney Cox and Busy Phillips last year and other notable festival appearances included CMJ, Shakori Hills, and Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion.
After Newport, Converse sent the band to Boston, MA to record with Deer Tick producer, Seth Manchester, at their Rubber Tracks Studio. During these sessions, the band began working on their next album, "Super Moon Black Out", which they finished recording at Sioux Sioux Studio in Charlotte, NC with Chris Waldorf. The band anticipates releasing the album in early summer 2016.
