“Debut full-length slated for spring 2013 release”
"Performing at SXSW 2013"
Hailing from Hollywood, FL, the aptly-named Beach Day is a surf-pop band reminiscent of The Raveonettes and the Dum Dum Girls. Highly influenced by Phil Spector’s body of work (think The Ronettes and The Crystals), the trio formed in early 2012, when all three members were unhappily playing in other musical projects. After meeting, Kimmy, Natalie and Skyler immediately decided to leave their former bands and form a new group. They moved into a house together and managed to get jobs at the same smoothie store. The rest, as they say, is history.
Beach Day is tentatively planning a May 2013 release for their debut full-length, and are booked to play this year’s SXSW. With straight-up ‘60’s pop influences like Beach Boys, The Shangri-La’s, The Ventures and The Sonics, Beach Day is a fun-loving Florida band you will not want to miss. Catch them live right here at the Stopover!
