Blackrune

PM Goerner: Guitars/synthesizers
Blackrune bubbles slowly to the surface of the Georgia swamp like a prehistoric creature perpetually rising from an ancient grave. Representing the collected visions of guitar mystic and multi-instrumentalist PM Goerner, Blackrune winds slowly down a strange forest trail of dark, anachronistic fantasy soundtracks to an imaginary library filled with lost illuminated manuscripts. At once as full of apocalyptic bombast as a castle on fire and the hypnotic transcendence of a sacred hymn, Blackrune seeks through every alchemical means known to recall Pink Floyd on Quaaludes, a soundtrack to Beowulf as recorded by My Bloody Valentine, or Spacemen 3 under the influence of witchcraft.
Blackrune can be classified generally as psychedelia, post-rock, post-metal, shoegaze, noise, and ambient, or more specifically as ‘dream-drone’ or ‘mystical rock,’ and is both technically and melodically comparable to other projects such as Jesu, Earth, Slowdive, Spiritualized, and Eternal Tapestry. Blackrune has released a limited cassette, Akhenaten Percentages, and a digital compilation track on Savannah’s DIY label Furious Hooves, and is currently recording a full-length follow-up for the second half of 2013.
