Nashville has birthed countless bands in its long and storied history; it’s not for nothing that it’s called Music City. So it’s kind of a big deal when a fledgling band from Nashville can distinguish itself amongst the multitude. Enter Colorfeels — an indie pop-rock band that is quickly making a name for itself. With roots that stem from the meeting of Parker Cason and Justin Maurer, the band slowly morphed its way into existence, picking up members and solidifying its sound along the way.
Cason and Maurer began playing together in 2008 and eventually moved into a West-Nashville house along with bassist Taylor Zachry and a few other musicians/roommates. Over the course of their 5-month stint in the huge house, Colorfeels crafted songs that would eventually become their debut album. Released in May 2011, Syzygy reflects the sound of a fully-fleshed band, and was recorded quite unconventionally at a historic Civil War home in Brentwood, TN.
Colorfeels has spent the last two years honing and perfecting their craft, all the while being careful not to play too many live shows in their native Nashville — a strategic move on their part to ensure their continued viability. They are currently touring with Stopover veterans Little Tybee.
