Christopher Cool: Bass
Tanner Cooper: Drums
“Performing at Shea Stadium, February 2013“
Although Charleston, SC natives Heyrocco officially formed in 2010, childhood friends Nathan, Chris and Tanner have been playing music together since middle school, and their debut full-length album, Comfort, shows a maturity and cohesiveness light-years ahead of the band’s age. With a sound reminiscent of The Cure, Nada Surf and The Strokes, Heyrocco also counts Temper Trap, The Working Title and Joel Hamilton among their influences.
The band created a lot of buzz for themselves after the release of their first EP, The Friends Mixtape, evidenced by supporting gigs with acts like Surfer Blood, Mutemath and Miniature Tigers. Heyrocco went into full-on tour mode after the April 2012 release of Comfort. After a short winter break that included some studio time, they’ve already got a full schedule heading into 2013, including a gig at Shea Stadium.
Look for the release of their newest single, “Elsewhere,” on their Bandcamp page on January 22. Heyrocco is a young, energetic band with a bright future ahead of them, so be sure to catch them live right here at the Stopover!
