Something of a cross between Joanna Newsom and Modest Mouse”-Washington Post

“Though Pree shares a number of Le Loup’s animating elements, Tabol’s current project seems more intimate, rustic, folk-tinged.” -NPR

Some of the most memorable music I have heard in a long time””- Snob’s Music

With a musicianship described as a patchwork, guerilla style of recording and a sound as intimate, rustic, folk-tinged,” Pree conjures comparisons to the sounds of indie names like the Decemberists and Regina Spektor.  Led by May Tabol (formerly of Le
Loup), the four member, D.C.-based band emerged onto the music scene
in 2009 with their first EP, A Chopping Block.  The 5-track album showcased Pree’s eclectic approach to music with beatifically brittle musical arrangements” and songs about “ghosts, houses, and snow.”  The Washington Post describes Pree’s music as “psychedelic Americana,” and a blend of “the downhome and the cosmic.”  Their second album, Folly, expands on the unique experimentation of their first, with band members alternating on each song from flutes and melodicas to guitars and percussion instruments, giving their sound an uncommon range of musical diversity.
