“Beggar’s Guild” named #26 on The Dropp’s Best 50 Songs of 2012

Hailing from DeLand, Florida, Roadkill Ghost Choir came together when solo singer/songwriter Andrew Shepard decided to expand his sound for the purposes of a live show. He recruited his brothers Maxx and Zach, along with fellow musicians Joey Davoli, Stephen Garza and Kiffy Myers. The rest, as they say. . .

The sextet began playing together in early 2011, and went through many names before finally settling on Roadkill Ghost Choir. The band describes their sound as being influenced by Wilco, Gram Parsons, Bob Dylan and Fleetwood Mac, with some Radiohead and Nirvana thrown in for good measure. Their debut EP, Quiet Light, was released in late 2012, and was quickly hailed as one of the best indie releases of the year. The record’s opener, “Beggar’s Guild,” was named to The Dropp’s Best 50 Songs of 2012 list. They’ve also been reviewed in the German edition of Rolling Stone magazine.

Accolades aside, the band continues to tour and spread the word of their indie-folk awesomeness with fervor. Don’t miss them at the Stopover!
