Sam Sniper is an alt-country band from Athens Georgia that formed just over two years ago.  Their debut album We’re Not Coming back this Way was a year long project that started between Andrew Klein and Chris Barnett after high school as a long distance recording project.  Klein in Florida and Barnett in North Carolina would exchange half recorded Mp3s of song fragments via e-mail. This way of working had a large impact on whether the music sways towards a more comical or serious side. If Klein and Bennett write the song solo, it turns out to be straight-faced and more emotional. However, while working together through the writing process, out comes the playful banter. Drawing on songs written collaboratively by the two, We’re Not Coming Back This Way deals with love, heartbreak, purpose, and intergalactic jungle warfare. “A single song can move from country ramble to explosive rock, grooving together within the warm embrace of pop sensibility.”
