“…the results we hear on record showcase a band that masters the production process like few others.”-The Deli Magazine

“Sanders and Goodman created an interactive video portrait maker app called ColorBeast, released in 2012”
The story of the self-made musical group has been told plenty of times over: group forms, makes a few scratchy-sounding demos, makes it big. Snowmine doesn’t seem interested in that second point, however – they went straight from forming the band to producing beautifully crafted pop songs, all on their own. The Brooklyn group, headed by classically-trained Grayson Sanders, has been producing their own music for at least two years without the help of a major label. However, while listening to their first full-length Laminate Pet Animal, you’d be hard-pressed to find the frayed edges normally associated in a self-published debut. The music here is all expertly produced indie-rock, with strings, horn sections, found objects, and delicate guitars with just a tinge of reverb added in for good measure.
Their live performances are also infused with that do-it-yourself attitude, taken to the nth degree – the band helped to create their own app, titled ColorBeast, which creates real-time video effects that sync with their music while performing. They use the app to create unique light shows that change with the music as it is being played. Combine this with their singular approach to classical-based pop music, and you have a show that you’re not likely to find anywhere else.
