Savannah Stopover

Formed in 2009, Young Buffalo are a young band from Oxford, MS with big things on their horizon. Comprised of multi-instrumentalists Ben Yarbrough and Jim Barrett, the band has released a total of 4 EPs over the last 3 years. Their latest effort — the eponymous Young Buffalo — has garnered rave reviews and spiked anticipation for an as-yet untitled full-length, set to be released sometime this summer. Ben and Jim compose 100% of the band’s material, and supplement their live sound with various friends/musicians.

With comparisons to Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Vampire Weekend, Local Natives and Fleet Foxes, Young Buffalo cite influences ranging from The Beach Boys to Led Zeppelin to My Bloody Valentine and have already toured with the likes of Arctic Monkeys and Admiral Fallow. Defying easy categorization, Young Buffalo can easily shift from psychedelic rock to noise pop, all while displaying a clean vocal style and musical adeptness well beyond their years.
