Savannah Stopover and Savannah Bike Campaign are bringing Ben Sollee back to Savannah for the famed Good & Evil Party on 9/3/11!
The Good & Evil Party is the celebration that follows The Midnight Garden Ride, now in it’s 3rd year and becoming an iconic Savannah institution as hundreds of costumed-clad bike riders parade through the historic district on two wheels.
This year the event starts and ends in Forsyth Park at the Band Shell and the music performances are free and open to the public. There are also a limited # of VIP reserved tables that will guarantee you a birds eye view just in front of the stage. You can order them here. We’ll award a prize for the best styled table which will get you 8 free tickets to our October Monthly Concert Series on 10/5/11.
Here’s a run down of the evening’s events:
7:00-7:40pm Bikers arrive, register and get ready to ride. General Oglethorpe & The Panhandlers provide support and motivation.
7:40-8:00pm Announcements and… Bikers take your mark
8:00-9:00pm Midnight Garden Ride. For those of you not riding, we’ll be cranking out some Stopover-esque house tunes from the Band Shell!
8:45-9:30pm Cheyenne Marie Mize performs
9:45-11:pm Ben Sollee performs
If you don’t know Ben’s music, you are in for an amazing night:
Both Ben and Cheyenne are quickly becoming fans of the Savannah music movement; Ben played with Bela Fleck & the Sparrow Quartet during the 2008 Savannah Music Festival and then played a solo show at a Savannah Bike Campaign event at Blowin’ Smoke in 2009. Both he and Cheyenne played our MusicFile Artists’ Lounge at SXSW in 2010 (the pre-cursor to Savannah Stopover!) and Cheyenne played a sold out show at the Jinx during Savannah Stopover this past March.
So bring your bikes, blankets, picnics, drinks and heart for a special night in SAV.
…and don’t forget to register for the Midnight Garden Ride here. This year’s ride is likely to sell out!
