Christopher Paul Stelling is a songwriter and self-taught musician, whose work primarily draws upon influences from the American folk tradition. A college drop out, his songwriting skills were discovered not in a classroom but in his job at a used bookstore. It was here he discovered his interest in poetry and literature and cultivated his talent.  Noted for his passionate vocal delivery and dexterous finger-picking, he thrives in live performance. His debut album Songs of Praise and Scorn was released in 2012, followed quickly by his second effort, False Cities, in 2013. His triennial release, Labor Against Waste, is anticipated in early 2015. Christopher has toured extensively across the United States and Europe, and is a Stopover vet (having played 3 already). Along the way he has garnered a lot of attention. Spin says, “Christopher Paul Stelling combines the organic approach of the Low Anthem with the impassioned histrionics of a pumped-up Jack White.” New York Magazine describes Stelling as having the “heart-plucking stylings of an acoustic troubadour.” According to the Vinyl District, “The amount of talent the comes from Christopher Paul Stelling is difficult to put into words….press play to any one of his songs and you will find yourself transported to a place you will never want to leave.”
