Savannah Stopover 2016 Initial Lineup Announced!

Savannah Stopover Music Festival Announces Initial Lineup For 2016 Festival

Ra Ra Riot, Yuck, and Futurebirds Top List of Forty Three Confirmed Bands

Tuesday, November 17th, 2015- Savannah, GA

MusicFile Productions, LLC announced today the initial lineup of bands confirmed to play the 6th annual indie music festival which will take place in Savannah’s Historic District March 10th-12th, 2016.

Forty three bands from across the country and around the world have been selected in the first wave of bands, including international headlining acts Yuck from the UK and up and comers Go!Zilla from Italy. A second and final wave of bands will be announced in January, 2016 and will include several local Savannah bands. A total of 80+ bands are expected to play the 2016 festival. The festival continues to focus on up and coming acts across a wide variety of genres, most of whom have not yet played the market/region and the majority of which are headed to Austin, TX for the SXSW Music Festival and Conference.

Returning acts from past Stopovers include Hiss Golden Messenger, Big UPS , Christopher Paul Stelling, Blank Range, French Horn Rebellion and New Madrid. Athens, GA based Futurebirds, who have played Revival Fest as well as the Stopover announcement event in 2013, will make their first appearance at the festival; garnering one of the coveted headliner slots.

“We’re very excited about this initial list of confirmed bands. Whether it’s established acts like Ra Ra Riot and Yuck, both of whom have new records coming out but have never played the market, or rising stars like NoBS! Brass Band from Richmond, VA or Diet Cig from New Paltz, New York, the talent is just incredible” said Kayne Lanahan, Founder and CEO of MusicFile Productions. Added Lanahan, “some of these bands like Mass Gothic and Mothers have debut albums that won’t be out until just before the festival so Savannah gets to be among the first to really help set these 2016 music trends!”

The festival also confirmed a partial list of participating venues including Ships Of The Sea North Garden, Trinity United Methodist Church, Club One, The Jinx and Congress Street Social Club. The full list of participating venues will be released in January, along with the performance schedule for all bands.

Early-bird tickets for the festival go on sale at 11 a.m. on 11/17 and include 3-day advance passes at $65 (regular priced 3-day Passes will increase to $79) and VIP Passes at $125. Both categories have limited availability. Tickets are available through Ticketfly at:
