The Savannah Stopover Digest is back! Since we’re less than six weeks away from this year’s Savannah Stopover Music Festival, we’re going to be delivering weekly updates on news you can use! Keep an eye on this space on Friday afternoons for festival info, new songs and records from Stopover artists, details about Stopover sponsors and lots of other stuff you need to know! Here’s the scoop for this week:
New West Records Showcase
We are extremely excited to have three record label showcases happening at Savannah Stopover this year! The first one is happening Friday night, 3/9 at Ships of the Sea with our friends from New West Records (home to Shovels & Rope, Justin Townes Earle, etc) who are celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2018!. The line-up will feature Cicada Rhythm, Lilly Hiatt, Caroline Rose and Nikki Lane. We’ve created a Facebook event for the evening’s festivities, so let us know that you’ll be coming!
Low Cut Connie Added to the Line-up
Check this out! Low Cut Connie has been added to Stopover 2018. LA Weekly has said that “Their ferocious live show...is unmatched in all of rock right now!” Have a look for yourself:
You can catch Low Cut Connie at Stopover on Friday 3/9. Time and venue will be announced with the full schedule next week.
Lagunitas is Back!
Beer speaks! We couldn’t be happier to have our friends at Lagunitas back to fuel the 2018 Savannah Stopover Music Festival. These beer masters will have a few new tricks up their sleeve for this year’s festival, including their latest offering Sumpin’ Easy which they describe as:
“Sumpin' Easy is everything we've learned about making hop-forward beer expressed in a moderate voice. Pale, cold, slightly alcoholic, and bitter. It's all we know.”
First single from Neighbor Lady:
Neighbor Lady from Athens, GA is a band to watch this Stopover. They’ve been catching a lot of buzz in and around the indie music scene. This buzz is sure to get louder as they tour the Southeast opening for Stopover alums The Futurebirds this winter.
Immersive Atlanta premiered their first single “Fine,” on 1/25/18 from their forthcoming record Maybe Later. Give it a listen:
New Song from Colin Caulfield:
Another artist to watch closely at this year’s Stopover is Colin Caulfield. You’ve probably seen Colin in has role as guitarist/keyboardist and vocalist of DIIV. His new solo project announced a brand new track yesterday (1/25/18) via Twitter. The single “Bullshit”, produced by Jake Portrait of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, is anything but. Give it a spin:
