Kanine Records Showcase: Saturday, March 10th. LiweWire Music Hall 9pm-12am

Kanine Records is an independent record label based in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York started at the end of 2002 by Lio and Kay Kanine. Their first release, NY: The Next Wave, was a 20 track compilation featuring mostly unsigned and emerging acts from the area. From there, they started to sign local bands and release CD EPs, 12 inch vinyls and eventually full length records. Ten years later, the label currently handles over 26 bands and continues to grow due to the continued success of artists like Grizzly Bear, Chairlift and Surfer Blood.

Neon Gold Records Dance Party: Friday, March 9th. Live Wire Music Hall 9pm-12am

Neon Gold Records is a New York City/London-based boutique record company founded in 2008 by Derek Davies (NYU ’10) and Lizzy Plapinger (Vassar ’10). Neon Gold specializes in 7″ records, regularly releasing limited runs between 250 to 500 copies. Despite their relatively short history, Neon Gold has already produced singles for such noteworthy acts as Passion Pit, Gotye, Marina and the Diamonds, Ellie Goulding, and several others. In addition, Neon Gold still maintains a music blog, posting news about current productions, as well as profiles of up-and-coming bands from the United States and Europe and Australia.

On December 8, 2010, Neon Gold Records signed a joint venture with Columbia Records, enabling them to release more seven-inches in 2011, along with EPs and an album, which will be through RED Distribution.Neon Gold will also have an upstream deal with Columbia, who will have first pick of all the bands signed to the label. In early 2011, Neon Gold launched a UK-based publishing imprint called Beyond Gold, a joint venture with Warner/Chappell Music. The first release will be from Alex Winston later this year.

Georgia Rising Stars Showcase: Friday, March 9th. Loco’s 10pm-1am

Savannah Stopover has selected three of the best new bands in the state of Georgia to play on one special night at Loco’s on Broughton Street.The trio of artists represent each of their cities vibrant music scenes and herald in a new era of fresh musical expression.

Kingston was born in Savannah but currently calls Athens home. Triathalon are Savannah’s new darlings of indie rock and Wowser Bowser is the best thing to come out of Atlanta since we first heard Deerhunter.

Mark your calendars for this one because your favorite Dawgs Sports bar is gonna have the lid blown off it when these 3 take the stage!

Mazarine Records is a non-profit, artist-run independent record label based in Athens, Georgia that has released music by pacificUV, Electrophoria , and Hope foragoldensummer and has recently grown to include 7 bands, 6 of which are coming to Savannah Stopover! They are literally changing the way record companies do business!
